The first chapter printing is up for sale in the store! I got the test copy on Saturday, and it's just as shiny and pretty as I'd imagined. The greens look a little brighter in print than they do on our monitor, but I'm not complaining. I like green.

I've also added a downloadable version to the Lulu store, mostly because it was an easy option but also because Wowio still isn't operating. So if you want a larger, ad-free version of the comic on your computer, you'll have to pay 99 cents at Lulu instead of getting it for free (with ads at the beginning and end) from Wowio.

I do plan on bringing out each chapter separately like this, but I think of them more as a curiosity that my family and friends might buy. I'm really looking forward to putting together a compilation - probably the first three chapters, which will be even bigger and prettier and will actually be like a book.

I'm so close to the end of the second chapter. I just have one difficult section that requires a lot of thought. It's going to be fun to draw once I get the shape of certain elements, but at this point I feel like I'd just like to get through it quickly because the beginning of Chapter 3 is so much fun, and I have a lot of the scripts pretty much ready, so I'll be able to really concentrate on the art for a while.

Chapter 2 is going to be longer than Chapter 1, which doesn't surprise me. I know that each event takes more pages than I imagine it will. That's why I definitely don't have a number of chapters in mind for the comic, because the number will inevitably grow, or else all the later chapters will be six times longer than the earlier chapters. I've seen that happen in comics.

I do want all the chapters to be relatively the same length, but it's going to vary a lot. I think I ended Chapter One at the right time, but because of how the second chapter is organizing itself, it either has to be significantly shorter or significantly longer. I chose longer. I really have no idea how long Chapter 3 will be or whether it will manage to contain all the events I imagine it will. I have a better idea than usual, though, because of all the scripting I've already done for it. The first two chapters have four sections each, and if I follow a similar pattern I think I've scripted the first two sections of chapter 3. What I have planned for the third section may take up the rest of the chapter, or it may leave room for the other thing in section four. Either way, I think I'll be able to work it into a similar length with the first two.

I just realized how confusing that has the potential to be, with all those numbers. Ah, well. It happens.

As I said I would, I put the pictures of Aiken for the CG pageant up in the gallery. I especially like the one for the winter/formal portion. It's got pretty snow in it. It was a fun diversion, and I hope it will help me get more readers. I don't really care if I win (but I think I might, and it would be cool).

That's all for now. There will be another rant on Thursday, and then I'll be off to the beach for a week with no internets. Hopefully I can get some drawing done, but I may not. I love that it doesn't matter if I take a week off. The comic will, of course, update without me. Maybe I'll write a little message for next Monday before I leave.

This one wasn't at all short either. Maybe I'm subconsciously trying to build up credit. No, I just have a lot to say.
