I think things are progressing nicely. I was having a lot of trouble with each page as it came by, and finally I got really stuck on one of them and went ahead and found that I could write a rather amusing page after it. That amusing page is, in my opinion, the least child-friendly thing I've written so far. Of course, up to now the comic has been fairly G-rated, and I originally set it as PG because I knew it would get scary. I just didn't expect that page!

After I got that all drawn I went back and cooked up an acceptable script for the page before. I have most of the next script and ideas for the following. There's a tough bit after that, but very soon now I'll get to Chapter Three, which I have pretty well planned out. It should be fun. Well, I'm having fun now, when I'm not banging my head against the wall.

A while ago James and I were listening to a Penny Arcade podcast, one of the ones in which they bounce ideas off each other until they have something that they agree is funny. One of them said something like, "How do these writer/artists do this by themselves? Do they just bang their heads against the wall until they think of something?" and I yelled "Exactly!" and James laughed.

On the whole I think I prefer working alone. I've tried the "banging two heads together repeatedly" method and I think I may have broken my friend's head. I don't have to worry about how the wall is feeling.

So you may notice two new buttons in the sidebar there. One is a permanent link to the CG Wiki page on LleuGarnock. I'm thinking of taking out the "characters" and "elf culture" pages in favor of using the Wiki for an information page. They already say a lot of the same stuff, and that way if I think of something to add, I only have to edit once.

The other new link is to my Knol tutorial on how to edit images for webcomics. I've found a lot of people starting webcomics could really use this information. I think the part about the GIMP's basic use in webcomics is going to be the most helpful, if only because it's information someone might not already know once they know where to look for help with comics. It'll get the most use from my CG forum sig, probably, but I found no reason not to put it here.

I don't remember many more interesting things about my trip, but I do remember when I scraped my knee on the coral while I was snorkeling, because it's started to really itch. The food was really expensive. There were lots of trees with red flowers on them. Our driveway was extremely steep. One night Nigel and I went out to pick up pizza, because I needed to go grocery shopping because I don't eat pizza or drive. So on the way back up to the house, once we got to the bottom of the driveway we stopped and looked at the pizzas. I offered to hold them level while we made the ascent. This is why a car rental place on St. John is called "Jeep rental."

I'm making plans for tie-dye shirts. I'm not sure how well it's all going to work, but I have some different ideas to try. At least I'll have fun, even if I accidentally dye all our carpets purple or something.

The end! Bye bye! I'm not sure if anyone's going to read this whole thing through, since my devoted fan Iris is on vacation without 'net this week. But if you are reading this, thanks for being my fan!
