Rants.

When I designed the website originally, I imagined the rants being a lot shorter. I'm thinking of rearranging things - putting the more blog-like comments at the bottom of the page and leaving comic-specific comments directly under the comic page. Because of the nature of ComicGenesis code, this will mean that if I want a border around the comic, I'll have to put it into each image file individually. I probably won't put the border on all the comics right away, so it might look a little bad, but I'll probably have that running soon. And I'll fix some formatting problems in the early rants while I'm at it.

My current thoughts are about writing Syb - it's difficult because for most of my life I've tried to avoid unpleasant teenage males and ignore their behavior, and managed it better than most. I don't feel like I have a handle on his character, and that's behind a lot of the frustration I've been having with the script. But it's getting better.

For the first time in the history of the comic I'm backed up at the coloring stage. James has been spending a lot of time on the computer, and my most recent sessions have been spent reading other people's comics, dealing with my page code, and asking questions on the CG forums. Currently I have two files halfway through the first stage of coloring and another being sketched. The one picture's going to take a long time because it's special - I'm making a wallpaper, yay! It'll be free - I'm not among the ranks of starving artists. Also I can't get a PayPal account.

I don't feel lazy now; I'm producing comics at an average of two a week again, and I am blessed with a multitude of interesting side projects. I have two friends who are writing stories and love to see my interpretations of their characters, and one friend and soon-to-be-my-husband's-cousin-in-law who wants help with her wedding invitations. I love doing wedding stuff. I did my own invitations and programs, and the programs for my uncle's wedding. I like happy pictures.
